Staggering Numbers - Text Messaging Explosion Worldwide

According to a September 2007 article (click here for the article), there were 8 billion text messages being sent every day worldwide. That is the equivalent of 92,000 messages per second. Another report released by the CTIA, the wireless industries trade association, stated that Americans sent approximately 75 billion text messages for the month of June 2008, roughly 2.5 billion per day. Those numbers are staggering and really illustrate the explosion in the mobile phone communication feature, especially compared to only 17 billion being sent worldwide in 2000.

How many messages in a day do you send?
